Chronic Tacos launches 'hot' movie contest

Open Road Films and Chronic Tacos recently announced a promotional partnership for the April 18 release of "A Haunted House 2," starring starring comedian Marlon Wayans, according to a company press release.

As part of the collaboration, Chronic Tacos will offer an extra spicy ghost pepper hot sauce March 15 through April. The LTO hot sauce will be available at every location throughout the country and will be paired with a social media contest leading up to the premiere.

"We've had lots of customers request a spicier sauce over the years, and this new limited time sauce is definitely going to exceed that request and have them begging for water," said Randy Wyner, president and founder of Chronic Tacos. "The ghost pepper is among the world's top three hottest chili peppers — 400 times hotter than Tabasco sauce — and we're really excited to roll it out in honor of the film."

Customers who take on the ghost pepper hot sauce can show what they're made of by submitting photos, videos and/or stories of their attempts through Chronic Tacos' Instagram, Facebook and Twitter channels, according to the release. Based on the top weekly entries, Chronic Tacos will give weekly prizes, including Chronic Tacos T-shirts, gift cards and bottles of ghost pepper hot sauce. At the close of the contest, Chronic Tacos will award the best contender with the grand prize of two VIP tickets to the "A Haunted House 2" debut in Los Angeles, along with a limousine ride and complimentary hotel room for the night.
