Chipotle CDO Mark Crumpacker, who was facing cocaine-possession charges last week, has turned himself in, according to ABC News.

Crumpacker, 53, was arrested this morning on seven counts of possession of a controlled substance, New York Police Department Sgt. Lee Jones said in the story, and Crumpacker's attorney, Gerald Lefcourt, said the exec turned himself in at 9 a.m., today.

Crumpacker, who had been leading the brand's efforts to recover from recent food-safety scandals, was released on $4,5000 cash bail and will appear in court Sept. 8, Lefcourt said. TheCDO was named in the indictment Thursday by Manhattan prosecutors, who alleged that he was one of 18 repeat buyers of cocaine from a business that reportedly delivered drugs to customers.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc said Thursday it had placed Crumpacker on leave and that his duties were being covered by other senior managers.

According to the indictment, Crumpacker bought cocaine on multiple dates between Jan. 29 and May 14.
