Chili Shack, a Denver-based chain known for its green chili-smothered Mexican-American fare, has appointed Elizabeth Orona as chief operating officer to lead the brand's national franchise expansion.

The appointment comes as the company shifts from a regional favorite to a national contender. Orona, who previously served as general manager for several of the chain's Denver locations, will now oversee operational growth, innovation and franchise scalability.

"Elizabeth has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision and a deep understanding of our culture," Abraham Olivas, founder of Chili Shack, said in a company press release. "This promotion is a testament to her hard work and invaluable contributions to our company's success."

Chili Shack operates six corporate-owned restaurants in Denver and Las Vegas. The company recently launched its franchise program with an ambitious goal of opening as many as 100 locations over the next several years.

The chain's first franchise location is scheduled to open in suburban Denver in April. Initial expansion efforts will focus on Colorado, Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and New Mexico.

"Having worked in the restaurants and alongside our teams in Denver, I've seen firsthand the passion behind this brand," Orona said in the release. "I look forward to building on that foundation as we grow, supporting our employees and franchise partners."
