Chiko, a Washington D.C.-based fast casual that pairs modern cooking techniques with traditional Chinese and Korean flavors, is opening its fifth location by year's end.

Located at the Federal Realty Investment Trust Village in Shirlington, Virginia, the store marks the chain's fifth location and first in Northern Virginia, according to a company press release.

"We look forward to being part of Shirlington's vibrant restaurant scene and hope to be cooking for the greater Arlington community," owner Danny Lee said in a company press release. He and Scott Drewno founded the concept four years ago under their company, The Fried Rice Collective, which is also responsible for D.C.-based Anju and I Egg You.

Designed by Natalie Park Design Studio, the 1,500-square-foot store will accommodate 30 seated guests, as well as fast-paced delivery and to-go options.

The Shirlington menu will serve many of the same dishes as the chain's other locations — Orang-ish Chicken, Cumin Lamb Stir Fry, Double-Fried Chicken Wings and Soy Glazed Brisket — but will also offer an exclusive-to-this-location fried rice

"We will also introduce a new dessert and a few surprises for Virginia," Drewno said.

"Federal Realty is excited to add a second Chiko location to our DC-metro portfolio," Stuart Biel, SVP of Federal, said in the release. "The Bethesda location has seen incredible success during a very challenging time, and we look forward to the same in The Village at Shirlington. Chiko's incredible reputation and loyal following mean yet another quality food option in the Village."
