Chicken Salad Chick to make Destin debut

Chicken Salad Chick, based in Auburn, Ala., will open Florida's second Chicken Salad Chick franchise at the end of the month in Destin. The restaurant is located in the City Market Shopping Center at 36150 Emerald Coast Parkway, Unit 111.

The Destin owners, Mark Singletary and Lauryn and Cope Smith, have been loyal fans of the brand and wanted to bring it to Destin following successful franchise launches in Valdosta, Ga., and Tallahassee, Fla., in early 2013.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to get in on the ground floor and be part of what will undoubtedly be tremendous growth of the Chicken Salad Chick concept," Singletary said. "Getting to live and work in Destin is a dream come true, and I am so happy with the construction progress so far. I know that our new friends and neighbors are going to fall in love with Chicken Salad Chick in just a few short weeks."

The Chicken Salad Chick concept was established in Auburn, Ala., in 2008, and offers a "custom-fit" chicken salad experience, with 15 original flavors to choose from, as well as gourmet soups, side salads and baked desserts. Chicken Salad Chick has sold 63 franchises to be developed across the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina and has plans to expand nationally in the coming years.
