Now that the recreational use of cannabis is legalized in 18 states, celebrity weed-enthusiast Cheech Marin, of "Cheech & Chong" fame has teamed up Chef Zach Neil to launch Muncheechos, a virtual brand catering to "stoners." Run from ghost kitchens, the restaurant's menu will be available to New York-based customers next month and Los Angeles residents by March, Neil told FastCasual.

Muncheechos claims to be the first brand to specifically offer "stoner food." Items include Dope Dumplings — chicken and scallion-stuffed fried dumplings — Muncheechos Munchachos — a BBQ chicken mac and cheese nachos — and The Hybrid, a salty and sweet grilled cheese with Gouda, brie, cheddar, gruyere, sliced apple and a salted caramel drizzle. It will also offer CBD-infused edibles and a selection of vegan options.

"This model allows pre-existing restaurants that are struggling to to become Muncheechos providers," Neil said. "People will be able to order on all of the delivery platforms ranging from GrubHub to Uber eats."

In July, market research firm, Headset, projected that the cannabis market would exceed $30 billion in sales by 2023.
