Cheba Hut expanding to Iowa

Cheba Hut is rolling into Iowa when it opens by year's end in the Des Moines area before expanding to other locations around the state. Franchisee Mistene Nugent will open multiple units, starting with the first store in Johnston at 5260 Merle Hay Road.

"I love the Cheba vibe," Nugent said in a company press release. "The people at Cheba HQ are incredibly supportive and laid back. I feel like we are true partners and they do everything they can to ensure we are successful. We work hard and get the job done, but don't take ourselves too seriously."

Cheba opened its first location in 1998.
