Charleys Philly Steaks doubles down on bacon fries

Charleys Philly Steaks has debuted a new menu item, Double Bacon Potato Skin Fries, for a limited-time only.

Charleys Philly Steaks has debuted a new menu item, Double Bacon Potato Skin Fries, for a limited-time only.

Reminiscent of classic potato skins, the new Double Bacon Potato Skin Fries feature Charleys fries cooked to order and topped with warm cheddar cheese sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, cool sour cream and fresh chives, according to a company press release.

"A side of fries takes on an entirely different meaning at Charleys Philly Steaks," said Charleys spokesperson, Allison Short. "Our Gourmet Fries create a satisfying and flavorful experience for our customers, whether they're pairing the fries with their favorite sandwich or simply grabbing them as a snack."

Charleys Fries accounted for more than 17 percent of sales last year, in part due to the success of Charleys core Gourmet Fries and two limited-time offers: Loaded Philly Fries and Pepperoni Pizza Fries, Short said.

Through May 8, customers can snack on the Double Bacon Potato Skin Fries starting at $3.99 or add a regular-sized soft drink or Original Lemonade for $4.99, according to the release.
