Charley's Grilled Subs opens 400th location

Charley's Grilled Subs will open its 400th location in Memphis, Tenn., at the Oak Court Mall. The benchmark store is set to open Jan. 25 during National Philly CheeseSteak Month.

Founder Charley Shin will be in attendance to lead the grand opening, where his most important announcement will be in regard to a donation made to one local school, which in turn will be developing a student scholarship.

In 2009, Charley's also surpassed a financial milestone by achieving a landmark$209 million dollars in chain-wide revenue.

"The Charley's business principle, at its core, is based on community," Shin said. "We owe our success to our customers – without them, this unprecedented landmark would not have been possible. For that reason, we're so excited to share this event with the city of Memphis."
