Cava, a Mediterranean fast casual chain, is partnering with professional gamer and streamer Clix to launch a campagin, Cava Pass Challenge, featuring a curated menu item, a loyalty program challenge and a custom PC giveaway.
The promotion aims to connect with the brand's growing fan base within the gaming community, according to Andy Rebhun, Cava's chief marketing and experience officer.
The partnership features the limited-time Clix Chicken Shawarma Bowl, a digital-exclusive menu item available through Dec. 28. For every bowl purchased, Cava will donate 10% of the proceeds, up to $10,000, to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Clix has said the cause is "deeply personal" to him, motivated by his experiences with young cancer survivors.
"This collaboration with Clix lets us celebrate two things our fans love: bold flavors and immersive, interactive experiences," Rebhun said in a press release.
The campaign also introduces the Cava Pass "Battle Pass" Challenge, a loyalty program where customers can "level up" by making qualifying purchases through Nov. 23. Guests who opt in via the Cava app are entered to win a custom-built gaming PC that features a touch screen for ordering Cava. Participants may also earn bonus rewards, including a choice of pita chips on their fifth visit and an upgrade to Cava's Sun loyalty status on their seventh visit.
The grand prize custom PC, built by Paradox Customs, is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. A Clix x JBL Quantum Headset will also be included with the prize.
Clix will announce the partnership during a live stream on Twitch and plans to host two additional streams in the coming weeks to promote the campaign.
The Cava Pass Challenge is available through the Cava app and in participating restaurants nationwide through Nov. 23.
