Cava Grill to add three units in DC area before close of 2014

Cava Grill will also expand in Virginia in early 2015.

Cava Grill is set to open three new units in Washington, DC, and Maryland before the end of the year.

Timeline and locations for the restaurants include:

Chinatown (707 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001) set for early October;

Kentlands (213 Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD 20878) set for late October;

Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda, MD 20817) set for November;

As part of a new partnership with Optimal Grains, the new units will make pitas in house in stone-fired ovens. The new pitas will be made with organic flour and without preservatives, according to a news release.

Other features of the new restaurants include:

• Greek wines and local beers on tap
• An open-kitchen layout
• Information on allergens, nutrition and sourcing partners
• Rotating seasonal menus with soups, juices, and teas made in-house daily
• Featured items from local partners Whisked!, Gordy’s Pickle Jar, and Runningbyrd Tea

Cava Grill also plans to add locations in Fairfax, Virginia, at Reagan National Airport and in Ashburn, Virginia in spring and summer 2015.
