Kansas City-based Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs reported this week that one of its stores has hit $1 million in annual sales.
Franchisees Jeff Barclay and Scott Ritter, who opened the store in 2000, in Lincoln, Nebraska, said embracing catering and technology have helped the location thrive. While catering was up more than 25 percent over last year, the brand's promotion and adoption of Goodcents online and mobile app ordering platform also contributed the increased sales. This location also has one of the highest employee retention rates across the Goodcents Franchise System, according to a company press release.
"This is such an outstanding accomplishment for Jeff, Scott and their entire team in Lincoln," Scott Ford, president of Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, said in the release. "They have worked so hard and exemplify the Goodcents brand in so many great ways. They are always focused on going above and beyond to make our customers happy and generously giving back in their local community."
Barclay and Ritter have been part of the Goodcents Franchise System since 1999, when they opened their first Goodcents restaurant at 4333 South 70th Street in Lincoln shortly after graduating college. They now own four Goodcents locations with the fifth location set to open Friday at North 84th St., in Lincoln.
Goodcents has more than 80 units in the Midwest.
