Caribbean fast casual brand opening in Maryland

A new fast casual concept, Dat Jerk Caribbean Chargrill, is opening March 12 in Waldorf, Maryland.

A new fast casual concept, Dat Jerk Caribbean Chargrill, is opening March 12 in Waldorf, Maryland, at the Berkley Square Shopping Center, 2716 Crain Highway, according to a company press release.

“I am offering customers a seat at my family's dinner table,” said Richard Fray, owner of Fray Development, which is developing the concept. "You taste our Caribbean flavor in the music flowing through the restaurant, the jokes among family members and of course the lick-your-finger-good food. My sisters and I have put our hearts into getting this right for our customers. Not just the food, but also the atmosphere. When you eat at Dat Jerk, you become a part of our family.”

Dat Jerk's menu will offer healthy, authentic Caribbean options, including Jerk Chicken, Tropical Chicken, Curry Chicken and a variety of cooked-to-order shrimp, Fray said.

The Waldorf restaurant is the first of 10 planned owned and operated locations with franchise opportunities to follow, according to the release.
