Captain D's announced a new restaurant located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, at 1451 W.O. Ezell Boulevard will open on Nov. 2, with a grand-opening ribbon-cutting scheduled for Nov. 3. This restaurant opening marks the brand's debut in Spartanburg for the first time since the early 1990s, according to a company press release.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Captain D's heritage, great food and hospitality back to the Spartanburg community," said Michael Arrowsmith, Captain D's chief development officer. "These past few years have been a very exciting time for our brand, and we continue that excitement with this new restaurant opening. We are confident that the town of Spartanburg will welcome us with open arms, and look forward to continued growth in the community."
The new restaurant is corporately owned and operated, and the first ground-up restaurant Captain D's has built in more than a decade, the release said. Showcasing the brand's recent remodeled beach design, the Spartanburg restaurant is 2,781 square feet, includes a drive-thru and will employ 20-25 people. A ribbon-cutting celebration is planned with the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce for 10 a.m. Nov. 3. Allen Smith, president and chief executive officer, and Michael McNally, executive vice president, from the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance along with other local dignitaries.
The opening in Spartanburg is the brand's second this year. Captain D's has plans for an additional 20 restaurant openings in the Upstate of South Carolina with a handful slated for Spartanburg. The second location has already been secured at 4004 Highway 9 near the Boiling Springs Centre and will be opening in the first quarter of 2016.
"This is just the beginning for the Upstate as we look to add a number of new restaurants over the next few years," Arrowsmith said.
Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D's has 512 restaurants in 26 states, plus military bases around the world.
