Captain D's said its third-quarter marks the chain’s 20th consecutive quarter of growth, generating a 2.8 percent system-wide same store sales increase.
"Despite the restaurant industry experiencing spending challenges, Captain D's continues to generate solid growth," said the chain's president and CEO Phil Greifeld, in a news release. "In fact, we're on track for our fourth consecutive year of achieving record high system-wide AUV."
In the third quarter, LTOs like D's jumbo coconut shrimp and a promotion that featured five meals under $5 helped the brand pull in back-to-school traffic, according to a news release. Additionally, the chain has completed the rebranding and redesign of about half of its stores, which a news release cited as an ongoing contributor to sales gains system-wide.
Captain D's expects to complete renovations to 50 more locations by year's end. The brand currently has 513 restaurants in 21 states.
