Captain D's has partnered with American Development Partners in hopes of propelling the company's growth plans, according to a company press release. ADP will help the brand with the development of new locations by facilitating the acquisition of land and overseeing construction.
"The team at American Development Partners impressed us with their robust portfolio and expansive knowledge of the food service industry, and we knew they could be a valuable resource for franchisees looking to develop multiple restaurants," said Michael Arrowsmith, chief development officer of Captain D's. "As Captain D's continues to expand its footprint through franchise development, we are grateful to have a partner like ADP and look forward to the contributions they will make to the brand.”
Over the past several years, Captain D's has experienced a surge in franchise development fueled by the company's ongoing success, with 2016 marking its sixth consecutive year of same-store sales increases and fourth successive year of record high system-wide AUV, Arrowsmith said.
Franchisee Shawn Eby is working with ADP on the heels of signing a development agreement to open 20 locations in five states over the next seven years. Eby, CEO of Goalz Restaurant Group, is a longtime fast casual restaurant executive with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. In addition to Captain D's, Eby owns and operates Church's Chicken and Dog Haus franchise concepts throughout nine states.
"In addition to their vision, leadership and integrity, the Goalz Restaurant Group executive team has an incredible track record in the QSR industry of producing above average sales," said Caleb McMillen, COO of American Development Partners. "Combined with Captain D's incredible market position, we felt working with Goalz on this project was the perfect opportunity to invest in two great organizations that are aligned for success."
Captain D's has 516 restaurants in 21 states.
