Captain D’s is expanding in Central Florida, targeting Orlando as a key market for development, according to a news release.
In fact, to speed up franchise buy-ins, the brand will send a franchise development executive to Orlando Sept. 10 for the annual Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show to meet with qualified franchisees-in-waiting. The brand now has 29 restaurants in Florida, with nine more planned for the Tampa Bay area.
"We continue to target Central Florida for franchise development because we've seen how well Captain D’s has been received in the market, with existing stores consistently reporting positive sales," Chief Development Officer Michael Arrowsmith said in the release.
The fast casual seafood brand has been undergoing a redesign of its restaurants for the past year-and-a-half; that effort has now reached 70 percent completion. The chain attributes much of its current success to the store's new beach-style appearance.
