Capriotti's planning major mid-Atlantic expansion

August 23, 2017

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop has identified the mid-Atlantic region as its next expansion hub. Targeted development markets across the East Coast include Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia with room for 50 Capriotti's restaurants to enter the market, CDO David Bloom, said in a company press release.

"Our proven franchise business model along with the mid-Atlantic's strong economic growth allows for tremendous potential in the area," he said in the release. "We're committed to finding the right business-savvy franchise partners who are as passionate about Capriotti's as we are to bring this unique, high-quality dining experience to their communities."

The chain is seeking single and multi-unit franchise partners to specifically open 15 restaurants in Philadelphia, 20 in Washington D.C. and 15 in Baltimore.

With the top 25 percent of shops averaging $1.1 million and an initial average investment of $376,000, Capriotti's is a profitable and rewarding franchise investment, Bloom said. The brand has a corporate leadership team that offers a 180-day business coaching program and provides support to franchisees for marketing, retail sales, operations and growth strategies, according to the release.

Founded in 1976, Capriotti's has more than 100 fast casual restaurant units and will open an additional 15 shops by the end of the year with long-term goals to have 500 locations open by 2025.
