Capriotti’s launches ghost kitchens in California

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop has opened ghost kitchens in California via partnerships with CloudKitchen in L.A. and Kitchen United in Pasadena, where it joins the likes of brands such as Canter's Deli and Wow Bao. Both Capriotti's ghost kitchens are open and ready to fulfill orders.

"Ghost kitchens are a natural next step and have long been a part of our brand's strategic growth plans," CEO Ashley Morris said in a company press release. "Operating in these innovative new ghost kitchen facilities gives us the opportunity to bring our carefully curated menu to new communities, which is what it's all about. There's a reason why Capriotti's has such a robust and loyal following, and we're excited for others to give us a try and see for themselves what the hype is all about."

The news of entering into ghost kitchens comes on the heels of steady performance in Q2 of this year. Even amid a pandemic, Capriotti's has finalized 18 signed agreements — five of which are with franchisees who will operate ghost kitchens in a variety of urban markets.

Founded in 1976, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop has more than 100 locations.
