Can tortilla chips predict the next U.S. president?

September 25, 2012

"How the States Got Their Shapes," which airs on The History Channel, will find out if tortilla chips can predict who will win the presidential election in November.  During the episode, which airs at 10 p.m. EST on Sept. 29, the fast casual chain, California Tortilla, uses red and blue tortilla chips to predict how Virginia might fall in the upcoming election.

The chain is currently offering presidential-themed bowls – Romney's Mexican Mitt Loaf Bowl and Obama's Chicken Teriyaki Luau Bowl – to help customers vote with their taste buds during the election season.

To celebrate the TV exposure, California Tortilla will give a free order of Chips and Queso to diners who buy a Presidential Bowl and mention the secret password, History Channel, on Sept. 28 and 29. The restaurant will also conduct trivia contests via Facebook and Twitter based on the segment.
