2 brothers 'steaking out' fast casual indusry

December 21, 2018

Steak is the latest food to go fast casual, thanks to Steakology opening next week in Westfield Village in Los Angeles. Following their successful launch of The Carving Board in 2012, in L.A., founders and brothers Yoav and David Adir are now planning to turn the traditional steakhouse on its head, according to a company press release.

"We have always loved great steak, but felt that the pretense and theatrics of the traditional chophouse weren't practical or approachable,” David Adir said in the release. "Inspired by a new breed of Japanese steakhouses we think that L.A. steak lovers are going to love this fast casual approach to steak."

Steakology, centered around 100-percent customization, offers diners prime steak by the ounce so they choose their portion size. Each premium cut is individually selected, weighed and hand-carved in front of the customer, Yoav Adir said.

"We believe that good steak isn't rocket science, and it shouldn't cost the price of a spaceship either," he said.

The brothers also own Corrupted Cookies, which also launches next year in the Dubai Mall, in Dubai. The Carving Board now has six restaurants across L.A and Dubai with a restaurant opening next year in Korea Town, Los Angeles.
