Can Chapter 11 help save Noon Mediterranean?

August 15, 2018

Two name changes in as many years and a rebranding wasn’t enough to save Noon Mediterranean Grill. The chain, which opened in 2011, as Vertskebap and changed its name to VERTS  in 2016, and again to Noon last year, has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Delaware

The 19-unit brand, headquartered in New York, will also close seven units but is keeping 12 that the chain's attorney called "operationally profitable" with the "right mix of labor, food and occupancy costs."

Noon reported in court documents that its assets were between $1 million and $10 million but liabilities were between $10 million and $50 million.

As of press time, Fast Casual's requests for comment went unanswered.
