California's Mixt entering East Bay

April 9, 2019

Mixt, a California-based brand specializing in salads, grain bowls and plates, is entering the East Bay with two locations opening this spring. The first will open Saturday in Uptown Oakland, and the second will welcome customers on April 27 at San Ramon's City Center Bishop Ranch, according to a company press release.

To celebrate, the chain is giving the first 250 guests to visit each location on their opening days free totes filled with local swag, and honor of Mixt Oakland being the 12th restaurant, the chain will donate 12% of all proceeds from the Grand Opening weekend to local non-profit partner City Slicker Farms, whose mission is to strengthen food sovereignty and social inclusion through urban farming, education and recreation.

The San Ramon unit will donate $1 from every salad sold during its grand opening weekend to local non-profit partner The Urban Farmers, whose mission is to build a community-based, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable model of hunger relief through harvesting and donating backyard fruit.

Leslie and David Silverglide founded Mixt in 2006 in San Francisco.
