In an effort to continue to serve only sustainably caught or raised seafood in all 22 of its locations, California Fish Grill has partnered with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, which assesses how wild-caught and farmed seafood affect the environment and provides recommendations indicating which items to consume and which to avoid, according to a company press release.
As a partner, California Fish Grill is 100-percent compliant in serving seafood rated as Best Choice, Good Alternative, or eco-certified by an organization in which Seafood Watch defers, said Bob Holden, California Fish Grill CEO.
"As we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, joining the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a natural partnership for California Fish Grill,” he said in the release. "The Seafood Watch Program is the gold standard for sustainability and healthy ocean stewardship — this is a movement we're proud to be a part of."
Seafood Watch science is referenced by more than 1,000 businesses at 150,000 locations worldwide to help inform purchasing decisions, according to the release.
California Fish Grill, founded in 1998, is headquartered in Irvine, California.
