Calif. Senate passes menu-labeling bill

NBC11.com (San Jose, Calif.):TheCaliforniastate Senate has passed a bill that would require restaurant chains with more than 20 locations to post calorie information on their menus and indoor menu boards by Jan. 1, 2011.
The bill, proposed by stateSen. Alex Padilla, will now go toGov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's desk.
According to The Sacramento Bee, the bill passed after the California Restaurant Association dropped its opposition to the legislation.
