Café Yumm! will celebrate the opening of its first Washington location in downtown Seattle by serving free Yumm! Bowls from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Nov. 2, according to a company press release.
The new restaurant is at 717 Pine St., near the Pike Street Public Market, Washington State Convention Center, hotels, office buildings and housing. Local franchisees Brad and Jennifer Langford, who previously owned pizza franchises in Washington and Illinois, said Café Yumm! will be a welcome addition to the Seattle restaurant scene.
"We wanted to offer guests something unique, fast and healthy," said Brad Langford. "After asking friends in Oregon about Café Yumm! and visiting restaurants in Portland, we knew we'd found the right mix. There's just nothing like it that tastes so good!"
The Langfords expect to spend more than $250,000 on tenant improvements for the new restaurant. At slightly more than 1,900 square feet, the restaurant is built to Gold LEED for Retail standards and includes wall and floor coverings made from agricultural waste, water and energy saving features, zero VOC paint, LED lighting and much more. The colors and sustainable elements result in a warm, inviting and distinctive interior design, according to the release.
The store is the 12th Café Yumm! location; the other 11 are throughout Oregon.
