Cafe Rio Mexican Grill will give away food on June 5 in support of Hope For The Warriors, an organization that helps wounded service members, their families and families of the fallen. Starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Waldorf, Md., location, the chain will accept donations in exchange for "free" Mexican dinners. Hope For The Warriors will receive 100 percent of the donations collected, according to a company press release. The chain has already donated more than $10,000 to Hope For The Warriors.
The Waldorf Cafe Rio location opened in June of 2012, and now operates amongst seven additional locations on the East Coast, including Falls Church, Burke, Manassas, Hagerstown, Fairfax and Frederick, Md. It's continuing to expand in the D.C. area with Germantown and Annapolis Mexican restaurants set to open this fall.
"We are pleased that our East Coast locations have been so well received," said Cafe Rio Chief Marketing Officer Ben Craner. "Teaming up with Hope For The Warriors has been rewarding on so many levels. They are essential in helping our wounded military heroes. We are honored to show gratitude to our customers and Hope For The Warriors by offering free Mexican restaurant meals. We encourage all to come out and join us in supporting a great cause."
