By Chloe lands $31M for global expansion

ESquared's vegan concept, By Chloe, has landed $31 million to open 20 units in the next two years across the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. The company received the funding from various investment groups, according to NY Eater.

The first location opened three years ago in New York's West Village and now has units throughout NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, Providence and London. 

Samantha Wasser, the creative director behind ESquared, founded By Chloe with celebrity vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli. The two split last year after a lawsuit, but ESquared maintained the company and restaurant name.

ESquared was founded by Wasser's father and also owns full-service BLT restaurants and several fast-casual concepts.
