By Chloe, ESquared effort, Dez, in NYC closes after year

Dez, a fast casual created by the team that launched By Chloe with ESquared has closed a little more than a year after opening in New York City's Nolita neighborhood, according to Eater. The Middle Eastern fast casual is the second attempt by the founder of By Chloe, following a pasta brand called Sosta which also went belly up after about the same amount of time. 

The Mulberry Street restaurant featured salads, bowls and small plates with flatbreads. An ESquared's spokesperson told Eater that the brand "fell short of expectations."
