BWW digitizes operating procedures

November 1, 2019

Buffalo Wild Wings has digitized its operating procedures via CMX, a provider of supply chain and operations management tools. Through ActivityStudio, the 1,200 BWW units have access to the platform's design tools to create and manage company policies, audits, self-assessments, inspections, checklists and survey programs, according to a company press release.

"ActivityStudio's intuitive interface makes it very easy for our team to develop and execute programs to ensure all sports bars are compliant and operating with consistency. The impact on operational excellence has been impressive and immediate for Buffalo Wild Wings," Drew Roberts, director of brand ops performance for BWW, said in the release. "We consider ActivityStudio to be a game changer. With ActivityStudio we are better able to manage and maintain high quality standards and consistency across all of our sports bars."

Areas of evaluation include guest experience, food safety and temperature monitoring, back-of-house operations, kitchen equipment, staff development, dining room environment, cleanliness and other brand standards. Activities can be completed offline or online with web and native applications for IOS, Android and Windows, according to the release.

ActivityStudio mitigates risk and helps close the loop on critical issues by automatically turning non-conformances into corrective action and preventive action plans. It requires restaurant managers to address issues in a timely manner, with review and sign off by the auditor, CMX CEO Mitch Porche said in the release.

"In less than one month with ActivityStudio, Buffalo Wild Wings is now able to easily create, schedule, execute and manage repeatable activities to optimize the way they protect their customers and their brand reputation," he said.
