Burgerville adds local pear chutney and more to new items

December 1, 2009

Burgerville's new crispy chicken sandwich with pear chutney takes a golden fried chicken breast, Tillamook Swiss cheese and Oregon D'Anjou Pear chutney, tops that with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise, and sandwiches it in a toasted Kaiser bun. Their new Oregon D'Anjou Pear side salad tops spring greens with candied Oregon hazelnuts, dried Oregon cranberries and local D'Anjou Pears, and serves it with balsamic vinaigrette.
Burgerville has partnered with Truitt Brothers to bring guests D'Anjou Pears, grown locally in the Columbia River Region. The premium Swiss cheese used on the new sandwich is from the Tillamook County Creamery Association. The Kaiser buns come from Portland French, a family owned and operated business serving the Pacific Northwest since 1906, and the cranberries come from Meduri Farms, grown in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The hazelnuts come from the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon, a grower-owned cooperative that only cultivates hazelnuts that are not genetically modified.
These gourmet offerings will be available until Jan. 4.
The gourmet burger chain is also bringing back two seasonal favorites: Golden Yukon waffle fries and chocolate hazelnut milkshakes and smoothies.
