BurgerFi announced today it has signed a five-year deal with the Miami Dolphins.
"We're thrilled to open BurgerFi at Sun Life Stadium," said Managing Director Corey Winograd in a company press release. "I am a huge sports fan and know how excited people will be to see they now have the opportunity to eat better, all-natural burgers while watching NFL action."
Miami Dolphins President & CEO Tom Garfinkel took to social media and direct communication with season ticket members this past summer, asking fans what food they wanted during the 2014-2015 Dolphins games.
"The fans were clear in their response, they wanted more local fare and more local flavors," Director of Concessions & Retail Management Ben Metzger said. "BurgerFi is a perfect fit and we're beyond excited to have them at Sun Life Stadium."
BurgerFi opened its first restaurant in Lauderdale by the Sea in 2011. Since then, the burger concept has grown to 54 restaurants nationwide.
"We are proud of our roots here in South Florida," said Winograd. "Being the only all-natural burger option invited into the home of the Miami Dolphins is exciting to us. We owe it to our fans for giving us this opportunity."
Growth in non-traditional venues like stadiums, airports and campuses is part of BurgerFi's strategy, said Winograd.
