Buffalo Wild Wings taps new CFO, backs R Taco expansion

Buffalo Wild Wings has tapped Alexander Ware as executive VP and CFO and is expanding the R Taco concept across Texas and Louisiana.

Ware comes into the position after serving as former CFO of PepsiAmericas, Inc., executive VP of strategic development at Pohland Companies, and most recently as chairman of MStar Holding Corp.

"Alex has an extensive background as a large, public company CFO in the food and beverage industry, complemented by his experience in growth management, M&A strategy, and strategic planning. This is a pivotal time in Buffalo Wild Wings' history, and Alex will play an important role in supporting our goal of creating value for all of our shareholders," said Sally Smith, president and CEO, in a release.

Additionally, R Taco, the street-taco chain backed by Buffalo Wild Wings, has signed multi-unit franchise agreements with franchisees Chris and Kimberly Olexa to further expand in Beaumont and Baytown, Texas, as well as Lafayette, Louisiana.

"We see a rising demand for niche concepts that offer unique experiences and fresh ingredients, and believe R Taco has potential for significant growth," said Tom Berzinski, VP, managing director, R Taco, in a release.  

R Taco currently has 13 locations and has plans to double its locations over the next six months.
