Buffalo Wild Wings is kicking off fantasy football season by providing groups of eight or more that register to hold draft parties at the restaurant with exclusive draft kits and free food for future visits. Guests also have a chance to win tickets to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl Game Dec. 28 in Tempe, Ariz.
"We're all about being the best destination for game day and fantasy draft parties, and our Guests can expect a great atmosphere to catch all of the football action," said Kathy Benning, Buffalo Wild Wings executive vice president of global marketing and brand development. "This year we are bringing even more excitement for football fans with the launch of Buffalo Wild Wings and Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football National Draft Day, and the Big Kick Challenge augmented reality app to make this season the best ever."
Buffalo Wild Wings and Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football National Draft Day
Buffalo Wild Wings and Yahoo! Sports are teaming up to host Fantasy Football National Draft Day Aug. 24 in restaurants across the nation.
With the integrated partnership, Buffalo Wild Wings is encouraging its guests to sign up for Fantasy Football through Yahoo! Sports and hold their drafts at their local Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant where free wi-fi is available. Guests interested in hosting their fantasy football draft at a Buffalo Wild Wings are encouraged to call their local restaurant to reserve a spot. Registered groups of eight or more will receive an exclusive draft kit that includes $100 in free food (for a future visit). Guests who sign up to hold their drafts on Aug. 24 at Buffalo Wild Wings will also receive free t-shirts (while supplies last).
"Fantasy football is not only a passion for our Guests, but a lifestyle. We are proud to launch National Fantasy Football Draft Day with Yahoo! Sports to bring our loyal Guests expert tips, commentary and exclusive content," said Benning.
From noon to 2 p.m. CDT on Aug. 24, the celebration will include a live streamed fantasy football show hosted by Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football experts Brandon Funston and Kay Adams. During the show, which will be shown exclusively in Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, football fans at Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in Irving, Texas, and Oakdale, Minn. will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football gurus Brad "Big Noise" Evans (Irving) and Andy Behrens (Oakdale), who will be reporting live from each location.
Big Kick Challenge
Buffalo Wild Wings is giving fans the chance to win tickets to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Tempe, Arizona through the Big Kick Challenge app which will run from Sept. 2 through Nov. 24. This "Big Shot 2.0" augmented reality football kicking game turns tables into uprights to let fans flick and kick from afar.
The augmented reality game will also feature exclusive content. The Big Kick Challenge game will be available in "practice" mode to everyone who downloads it. Only guests who come and play in-store will get to experience the augmented reality app and have a chance to compete for prizes.
A leaderboard will keep track of the in-restaurant action with top weekly winners getting Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards and national winners competing for tickets to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
