Bruegger's taps into Kansas market

Bruegger's Bakery and Café has officially celebrated two grand openings – the fast casual chain's first opening in Kansas and a new bakery in New Haven, Conn., its eleventh bakery in the state. The 1800-square-foot Kansas bakery features indoor seating for 30 with an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch items including the chain's freshly baked New York-style bagels. The bakery also offers free WI-FI and catering for guests. The New Haven bakery is one of Bruegger's largest, at 2,600 square feet. It features indoor seating for 80 with an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch. The openings are part of Bruegger's sustainable growth strategy. Other planned openings include Raleigh, N.C., Tampa, Fla., and Worthington, Ohio. The chain also has plans to enter new markets in 2010, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle/Tacoma and Atlanta.
