Bruegger's gets best new airport food and beverage award
March 22, 2010
Bruegger's was recognized March 16 by Airport Revenue News as the 2010 Best New Food and Beverage Concept in the Small Food and Beverage Operator Category. The award was presented March 16. The Small Food and Beverage Operator Category represents brands with less than $40 million in annual airport sales.
"It is indeed an honor to be recognized by the airport industry in such a short time," Chris Cheek, Bruegger's VP of Franchise Development, said in a news release. "It is even more exciting to share this with our team members and franchisees who deliver the Bruegger's guest experience daily and the airports that have given us the opportunity to do so." In the past two years, Bruegger's has opened airport locations at Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
In March, the chain will have 295 open locations in 26 states, the District of Columbia and Toronto. About one-third of its locations are franchise-owned, including two of its airport locations.
