Bruegger's celebrating birthday with free bagels

Bruegger's Bagels will celebrate National Bagel Day and its birthday Thursday with its third annual Three Free Bagel Day. From opening through 11 a.m., guests who bring a coupon to any of Bruegger's Bagels' 300 locations throughout the U.S. will receive three free bagels.

"Everyone wants to do what they really love on their birthday — and our passion is baking authentic, New York-style bagels fresh all day for our guests," said Bruegger's Bagels Director of Marketing Judy Kadylak. "We hope to give away hundreds of thousands of bagels to thank our guests for three decades of loyalty."

Guests may download the coupon from the Birthday Gift tab on Bruegger's Bagels' Facebook page, while those who are members of the company's Fresh News email club as of Feb. 4 will receive the coupon via email. (Bagel fans interested in receiving coupons all year long can register for Fresh News at www.brueggers.com.

The chain keeps a close eye on which of its bagels are the nation's most popular. Recent guest surveys have indicated that the Everything bagel is America's favorite, followed by Bruegger's Bagels' Asiago Parmesan bagel in second place and the sweet Cinnamon Sugar bagel in third.

When it comes to cream cheese, Plain ranks first, followed by Light Plain and Honey Walnut. All of Bruegger's Bagels' cream cheese flavors are made exclusively for the chain in Vermont.
