Bruegger's announces California, South Carolina expansions

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Bruegger's Enterprises Inc. has signed new agreements with two new franchise groups to develop 15 Bruegger's bakery-cafés over the next seven years, the company announced in a news release.

The new agreements are for the development of five units in the San Jose, Calif., area and for 10 additional units in the Charleston and Columbia, S.C. markets.

Bruegger's has plans to open 50 bakeries in 2007 and another 50 in 2008. Currently 103 of its 254 bakery-cafés are franchised.
