Boloco recently celebrated the opening of its 21st location in Warwick, R.I. — the first Boloco to have a drive-thru, according to a company press release. Guests at Boloco Warwick have more ordering options than ever before, with four ways to get their burritos, bowls, smoothies or shakes. Orders can be placed with a human at the counter; through the two self-service kiosks on location; via Boloco's iPhone or Droid apps; and at the drive-thru.
The new location is a renovated Tim Horton's and features original paintings by Boloco resident artist Sean Boyce, inspired by Warwick scenes past and present and the not-so-serious illustrated story of Boloco's 15-year history. Even the bathroom pays homage to his paintings at other Boloco locations.
The location has been designated a 2-Star Certified Green Restaurant by the Green Restaurant Association. It offers recyclable bowls, cups made from corn, composting, low-flow waterheads and more.
Guests can look forward to "burrito-eater-only" parking, in case they don't want to simply drive-thru, and other perks such as free wireless Internet, electrical outlets and entertaining BolocoTV.
"So far we've averaged less than three minutes from order to pick-up, with a few epic drive-thru hiccups here and there," said John Pepper, CEO and co-founder of Boloco. "While I'm sure we'll continue learning this new drive-thru method through the school of hard knocks, it's off to a really good start.
"We've been quietly open for a few weeks, getting our feet wet, receiving tons of helpful feedback, and honestly our new neighbors in Warwick and Providence and other towns couldn't have been more welcoming and generous.
"Some of them know us from Boston and Washington, D.C., and they know the food, the brand, our quirks ... and what makes Boloco special. We are looking forward to getting to know many more of our neighbors in our cozy little restaurant in the coming days, months, and years."
