Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza partners with (RED) in support of World AIDS Day

November 28, 2018

Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza is teaming up with (RED) Saturday in support of  World AIDS Day, according to a company press release. The chain is offering a Peppermint S'more Pie in each of its more than 300 restaurants and has committed $5,000 to support (RED)'s efforts through the Global Fund, which can provide over 25,000 days of life-saving medication to those living with HIV/AIDS.

Since its founding in 2006, (RED), has generated more than $500 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, to support HIV/AIDS grants in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia.

"We believe in doing our part to create social change and are proud to partner with (RED) to generate greater impact," Kim Freer, director of cultivating fanatics at Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, said in the release. "It's the season of giving and we hope to empower our guests to contribute to the fight against AIDS."

Blaze's seasonal dessert is a twist on a fan favorite, the original s'more pie, featuring crushed peppermint atop a dark chocolate graham cracker cookie, said Freer, who urged guests to share their support by posting a picture of their s'more pie to social media using hashtag #endAIDS and tagging @BlazePizza.

According to the (Red), 100 percent of any money it raises goes to work on the ground — the organization collects zero overhead. Global Fund grants that (RED) supports have impacted nearly 110 million people with prevention, treatment, counseling, HIV testing and care services.
