Black Rock Coffee partners with PlayerLync for training

July 24, 2018

Black Rock Coffee Bar has partnered with PlayerLync for its digital employee training and operations platform, a news release said.

Black Rock Coffee Bar, which has 50 locations, worked with PlayerLync to create an eLearning program to create a paperless training system that changes as the brand grows. Black Rock currently uses a digital training format including operational procedures, recipe cards and new employee application processes.

PlayerLync also helped the brand with bandwidth issues by using automatic localization and synchronization of content, allowing synced devices to be connection-free with no video buffering and loading. Additionally, Black Rock now uses mobility to allow employee performance reviews, checklists and in-store tasks to be directly tied to the employee learning environment.

Black Rock also uses dynamic job aids like how-to's, as well as guides and ingredient lists for drinks to help its employees and simultaneously track and measure these efforts. Unlike paper-based training, eLearning tracks employee progress systematically, allowing new hires to be guided to the training they need based on their position. Metrics are used to identify ongoing training needs and other factors.
