Biscuitville opens North Carolina unit with redesign

November 15, 2017

Biscuitville Fresh Southern opened this week in Walkertown, North Carolina. The restaurant, which is east of Winston-Salem near the intersection of Hwy. 158 and Hwy. 66 at 3465 Martins Trail Lane, features a fresh design and marks the first Triad location for Biscuitville in a decade, according to a company press release. The company also opened a next-generation restaurant in Asheboro in early October on the same site as a Biscuitville that was demolished earlier this year to make way for the replacement restaurant.

"We're looking forward to meeting new friends in Walkertown and hope they will soon feel at home at our newest location. Walkertown is the perfect site for the first new Biscuitville location since we opened on Gate City Boulevard in Greensboro in 2007," Burney Jennings, Biscuitville CEO, said in the release. "We're incredibly thankful for the warm welcome we have received in Walkertown during construction and look forward to becoming part of the fabric of the community."

The new design was carefully crafted to be warm and welcoming, which provides a comfortable, family friendly dining experience, Jennings said.

“In addition to our new restaurants in Walkertown and Asheboro, we have remodeled dozens of other Biscuitville locations during the last two years as part of an exciting growth phase for our company that also includes a number of new menu items. Our two new restaurants, the remodeled locations, and new menu items are being built on Biscuitville's foundation of serving fresh, locally sourced, scratch-made food,” Jennings said.

As part of the new restaurant design, Jennings said that Biscuitville has also updated and expanded its biscuit window, which allows guests to view the biscuit-making process. The design also opens the front counter areas to create better views of the cooks and encourages interaction between team members and guests.

Other highlights of the new Biscuitville in Walkertown include:

  • Exterior features that resemble a reclaimed Southern barn, with a tin roof, barn doors and gooseneck lights.
  • Interior features that combine a modern look and feel with Southern heritage through industrial hardware.
  • Blue-painted ceilings inspired by southern porches, and mixed materials like stone, wood, metal and tile.
  • Large photos and artwork that capture scenes of the local neighborhood and community.
  • Cushioned seating and custom wallpaper
  • An enhanced beverage area with expanded drink options, including Salisbury-based Cheerwine
  • Free Wi-Fi and electrical access for devices.
