Billy Sims signing autographs at latest opening

Former NFL player Bill Sims, who co-founded Billy Sims BBQ, will sign autographs on Sept. 23 at the chain’s latest opening in Ada, Oklahoma. Also, the first 25 guests to stop by will receive gift bags with restaurant swag, according to a company press release.

Billy Sims BBQ opened the Ada location last week at 510 Hoppe Blvd. in the South Ridge Shopping Center. Prior to the opening, the location, owned by Franchisee Justin Shaw, underwent a complete renovation.

"We found a great location and worked hard to renovate it into a welcoming spot for Ada friends and families to enjoy the best barbecue," Shaw said in the release. "Our team looks forward to serving our new guests and introducing the community to our menu."

Founded in 2004, by University of Oklahoma running back and 1978 Heisman Trophy winner Sims and CEO Jeff Jackson, Billy Sims BBQ began franchising in 2009, and now has more than 50 units across six states.
