Billy Sims BBQ is opening its first Dodge City, Kansas, restaurant Friday.

Billy Sims BBQ is opening its first Dodge City, Kansas, restaurant Friday. The Tulsa-based restaurant will hold a grand opening celebration the following day hosted by the restaurant’s founder and former University of Oklahoma running back and 1978 Heisman Trophy winner, Billy Sims, according to a company press release.

The first 25 guests will receive a $25 gift card, an Oklahoma University football, a bottle of Billy Sims barbecue sauce, a T-shirt and a collector’s cup. The next 25 guests will receive a $15 gift card, a bottle of Billy Sims barbecue sauce and a collector’s cup.

"Our Billy Sims BBQ expansion in Kansas continues with the opening in Dodge City," said Jeff Jackson, president of Billy Sims BBQ. "Kansans are famous for loving barbecue and we think our food will meet the communities’ high expectations for flavorful, delicious food in a family environment."

The opening marks the third Billy Sims BBQ in the state.
