Big Chicken, founded by Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, has made its Kansas City debut at the International Airport, thanks to an agreement with OHM Concession Group, a hospitality company headquartered in St. Louis that operates restaurants in airports across the U.S.
"We're thrilled to partner with OHM as we introduce our mouth-watering chicken sandwiches and more of Shaquille's home-cooked childhood favorites to travelers on the go," Big Chicken CEO Josh Halpern said in a company press release. "Kansas City is an excellent market, and we couldn't be happier to offer the quality and taste travelers seek when at MCI with the opening of our first-ever airport location."
Big Chicken's opening coincides with the launch of the airport's new terminal, which is expected to add thousands of available flights and increase foot traffic tenfold within the establishment.
"We are extremely proud to partner with Big Chicken to open the brand's first Airport location at the new Kansas City International Airport," OHM President Milan Patel said in the release. "Big Chicken enhances our concept portfolio and we at OHM look to growing our relationship with Big Chicken in Airports, non-traditional and traditional venues across the country. A big THANK YOU to the Big Chicken support team for working tirelessly to get our MCI Airport opened."
