Big Chicken launches sandwich promo featuring sports personalities

Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken is tipping off a limited-time "Inside The Sandwich Wars" promotion featuring four oversized sandwiches inspired by Shaq and his fellow sports personalities Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith.

The "Sandwich Wars," running from April 22 to June 30, invites customers to try each of the four creations and vote for their favorite. The sandwich with the most purchases and positive feedback will result in a $25,000 donation to the corresponding personality's charity of choice.

The lineup includes:

• Kenny The Jet: Crispy chicken, fried pickles, jalapeño slaw, pepper jack cheese and Carolina BBQ sauce.
• Shaq Attack: Crispy chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw and chipotle BBQ sauce.
• Sir Charles: Crispy chicken, mac and cheese, bacon, crispy onions, chipotle BBQ sauce and Big Chicken sauce.
• The Ernie: Crispy chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese curds, onion tanglers, chipotle BBQ sauce and mayo.

Participating Big Chicken locations across Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Washington will offer the Sandwich Wars menu in-store and online. Prices may vary.

Big Chicken CEO Josh Halpern said in a press release the promotion "reflects the brand's focus on "bold flavor, true hospitality and connecting with the community." O'Neal said in the release that the lineup brings people together through "big flavor, big competition and even bigger impact."

Big Chicken has over 40 locations and more than 350 in development.
