BG Urban Café launches new brand strategy

May 15, 2011

The BG Urban Café has announced the grand opening of the company's rebranded fast casual restaurants, formally known as Bread Garden.

"The new look, meal offerings and primarily our dedication to superior customer service positions us to be a leader in the fast casual dining industry and provide customers with a nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack or coffee whether they are on-the-go or want to enjoy a dine-in meal," said Jeff Branton, vice president of operations and general manager for the BG Urban Café brand.

To kick off the brand's official grand opening, all BG Urban Café locations will offer one free Cinanamon Knot pastry to each customer. The Cinanamon Knot pastry is a signature menu item for the restaurant, regularly priced at $2.99 plus tax.

BG Urban Café has 13 locations throughout Greater Vancouver and British Columbia. The company, operating as BG Urban Café and BG Urban Grill locations, spent 6 months and more than $750,000 transforming and modernizing the brand through in-restaurant decor, brand identity, marketing and menu development.

While some menu items remain from the original Bread Garden menu, the new menu was developed with an emphasis on premium ingredients and healthy meal choices. All locations also are now licensed to offer a variety of alcoholic beverage options.

Additionally, the BG Urban Café brand has extended its refreshed menu to the company's catering services.

BG Urban Café Restaurants are beginning franchise sales efforts in B.C. and other provinces, and is owned by Denver-based Spicy Pickle Franchising Inc.
