Betty Rae's Ice Cream opening 10th location

Kansas City-based Betty Rae's Ice Cream is opening its 10th location next year at 9711 N. Ash Ave., in Liberty.

The serves 26 core flavors, including Cereal Milk and Lavender Honey, as well as monthly creations and local collaborations like its coffee ice cream made with Thou Mayest Coffee. In addition to scoops, it offers homemade waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches and sundaes.

The Liberty store will join nine other Kansas City-area locations, including shops in Waldo, the River Market and Lee's Summit. Betty Rae's also operates two franchise locations in Omaha, Nebraska.

The company recently launched a franchise program with plans to expand to cities like St. Louis, Nashville, Denver and Wichita.
