bellagreen attains plastic footprint reduction goal

January 18, 2019

Last year bellagreen pledged to reduce its plastic footprint by 50 percent come March 2020. The Texas-based fast casual has achieved its goal 14 months early, according to a press release.

As of Jan. 1 all eight bellagreen locations offer only paper straws and to-go bags.

"At bellagreen, we are committed to contributing to a better world for the communities we serve by using high-quality foods and sustainable environmental practices," said Jason Morgan, CEO of bellagreen, in the release. "We couldn't be more excited to start the new year off even greener than the last. We're proud to make earth more beautiful each day we operate.”

The brand is Houston's first certified Green Restaurant, and in addition to reducing plastic waste, bellagreen decreases its ecological footprint through water conservation, alternative power, pollution reduction, sustainable sourcing practices, and upcycled furnishing and building materials to maintain harmony with the environment.
