Beautiful Brands signs 25-unit deal for Smallcakes

Beautiful Brands International has announced an agreement with multi-unit developers, Brad and Francy Bauer, to open 25 new Smallcakes A Cupcakery stores in North Carolina and South Carolina. The deal comes just weeks after BBI announced the launch of its first tri-brand stores in North Carolina and Oklahoma, and is the first multi-unit agreement for the Smallcakes brand.

“We’re very excited about this great milestone for BBI and what it means for our growth as an innovative restaurant development company,” said David Rutkauskas, BBI founder, president and CEO. “Combined with the launch of our new tri-brand stores, we believe we’re gathering huge momentum in our corporate growth strategy.”

Founded in Kansas City, Kan., in 2008, Smallcakes’ bakes 15 kinds of gourmet cupcakes daily, each freshly topped with swirls of icing in traditional and modern flavors. The price point per cupcake is $2.89 or $28 per dozen. The unique cupcakes have been featured on TV shows such as The View and Cupcake Wars on the Food Network.

Today, there are 10 Smallcakes and Smallcakes co-branded with FreshBerry Yogurt stores open in addition to dozens of additional tri-branded, Smallcakes, FreshBerry and Rex’s Chicken stores opening in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas and North Carolina.
